The DST code may be used for participants who live in an area impacted by a FEMA declared disaster. Right-click and open this link in a new tab to navigate to the FEMA Declared Disasters website. Follow the steps below to verify which areas and dates qualify.

  1. Select the participant’s state

  2. Select “Search and Filter Disasters”

  3. Review the FEMA Declared Disasters for the state

  4. In the example above, AZ shows the Margo Fire disaster date range from April 8 - current.

  5. The customer should qualify for the SEP if the has fire impeded the customer’s ability to enroll into a plan.

The example below for Alabama storms would most likely not be considered valid due to the short date-range.
