Transportation Vendor = SafeRide 

 

Main Benefit Features: 

  • Members have unlimited rides to medical appointments and pharmacies.  

  • There are a variety of transportation options available and included to meet the needs of the members. All are offered as on-demand or prescheduled services: 

    • Ride-share options for the most mobile members (Lyft and Uber).  

    • Oxygen capabilities.  

    • Wheelchair vans.  

    • Stretcher and gurney services.  

    • Non-emergency ambulances/life support services.  

    • Others as needed.  

  • There are a variety of ways to book each ride including: 

    • Through an app.  

    • Through an online portal.  

    • Through a dedicated call center.  

  • Members will receive text or call alerts updating them on the timing of their pick up. 

  • SafeRide can provide analytics on a variety of data points.  

 

Accessing the Benefit:  

  • Once enrolled with eternalHealth, the member will call the eternalHealth customer service line with SafeRide to do an intake assessment. SafeRide will collect information about what type of transportation the member needs and will store this information in their system. 

  • After the initial intake, members will be given access to the member app and SafeRide portal.  

  • Members can book rides for themselves through the app or portal.  

  • Members can call SafeRide to book a ride.

  • Health care providers can be given access to the portal so they can book rides on member’s behalf (i.e. hospital social worker assisting with discharge).  

  • eternalHealth Care Managers or other employees will have access to the portal and can book rides on member’s behalf.  

  • SafeRide uses matching algorithms to ensure appropriate transportation is provided.  

  • Every driver has SafeRide app so they are able to be monitored throughout each ride.
